Hello and we missed all that was traveling for the holiday weekend and hope that the rain didn't spoil the fun in the sun. Yesterday, we began laying the foundation for the book that we will be covering for the next 6-8 weeks. The title is Chasing Elephants Wrestling The Gray Areas of Life by Brent Crowe. Although we did not actually begin the book we discussed that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) and that as we begin to discuss these controversial issues of Christian life we should be mindful of this. We pray that our words will give hope and encouragement and provoke thought as we begin this book discussion. Should be a fun beginning for the fall months and if you happen to miss, you should be able to fall right back in place with the discussion of the book. Hope to see you there.
Announcements Ladies will meet at Kelly's house this Thursday evening, September 8, at 6:30 for dinner, dessert and planning for the new year. Not all will be able to attend so I hope to meet again on the first Thursday of October - might be something we will start. We can discuss it at our meeting.
Prayer Request Kelly & Joey: Continue to pray for Joey's father as he hopes to gain full eye sight in his eye; Jonathan's many road trips to Huntsville & Knoxville; Anna Lynn's adjustment to college; the beginning and progress of Joey's new business.
Chris & Kim Snuggs: Chris's father having neck & back pain, will see dr this week for test, traveling often with his job; Kim's parents here for the weekend but will be traveling home to Louisiana and expecting flooding on arrival back home.
John & Kim DeShazo: Kim's cousin still recovering from the loss of triplets & pregnancy; Kim's cousin who delivered premie is doing well and baby gaining wt; Sally & Jed will start school this week.
John & Susie Trentham: John's left ear still uncomfortable; John traveling to Atlanta mid week, pray for safe travels and strength and endurance for Susie as she is home with the 3 little ones.
Chris & Anna Pike: Anna traveling home from Mississippi today
Jason & Rebecca: Traveling this week to the beach - have fun and safe travels!
Colt & Katy: Katy's co-workers 12wk infant with kidney reflux, infection and hight temps - looking at antibiotic treatment and possible surgery.
Brandon & Shayna: Continue to pray for Brandon's new job and work schedule, also pray for Shayna has she adjust to new schedule, her work and home responsibilities.
John & Amber Chesser: Traveling home from the beach; continue to pray for Amber, her mother and grandmother as they continue to grieve and move forward from the death of her grandfather.
