Hello and we missed all that was traveling for the holiday weekend and hope that the rain didn't spoil the fun in the sun.  Yesterday, we began laying the foundation for the book that we will be covering for the next 6-8 weeks.  The title is Chasing Elephants Wrestling The Gray Areas of Life by Brent Crowe.  Although we did not actually begin the book we discussed that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) and that as we begin to discuss these controversial issues of Christian life we should be mindful of this.  We pray that our words will give hope and encouragement and provoke thought as we begin this book discussion.  Should be a fun beginning for the fall months and if you happen to miss, you should be able to fall right back in place with the discussion of the book.  Hope to see you there.

Announcements  Ladies will meet at Kelly's house this Thursday evening, September 8, at 6:30 for dinner, dessert and planning for the new year.  Not all will be able to attend so I hope to meet again on the first Thursday of October - might be something we will start.  We can discuss it at our meeting.

Prayer Request  Kelly & Joey:  Continue to pray for Joey's father as he hopes to gain full eye sight in his eye;  Jonathan's many road trips to Huntsville & Knoxville;  Anna Lynn's adjustment to college; the beginning and progress of Joey's new business.

Chris & Kim Snuggs:  Chris's father having neck & back pain, will see dr this week for test, traveling often with his job; Kim's parents here for the weekend but will be traveling home to Louisiana and expecting flooding on arrival back home.

John & Kim DeShazo:  Kim's cousin still recovering from the loss of triplets & pregnancy; Kim's cousin who delivered premie is doing well and baby gaining wt; Sally & Jed will start school this week.

John & Susie Trentham:  John's left ear still uncomfortable; John traveling to Atlanta mid week, pray for safe travels and strength and endurance for Susie as she is home with the 3 little ones.

Chris & Anna Pike:  Anna traveling home from Mississippi today

Jason & Rebecca:  Traveling this week to the beach - have fun and safe travels!

Colt & Katy:  Katy's co-workers 12wk infant with kidney reflux, infection and hight temps - looking at antibiotic treatment and possible surgery.


Brandon & Shayna:  Continue to pray for Brandon's new job and work schedule, also pray for Shayna has she adjust to new schedule, her work and home responsibilities.

John & Amber Chesser:  Traveling home from the beach; continue to pray for Amber, her mother and grandmother as they continue to  grieve and move forward from the death of her grandfather.

Malachi rebuked the people for their neglect of the true worship of the Lord.   In the book, Malachi gives us some instructions to check our worship temperature.  So this week  ask yourselves these questions about your worship.  Is my worship...

Jonathan's friend got hurt in a backhoe hurling accident. Josh Webb spent the night in the hospital.

Amber's uncle had kidney stone surgery. Complications from surgery causing pain.

Carrie's job appears to be secure. Will know for sure on June 1.

We will be starting a new study in our Tuesday morning men's group on Tuesday, April 26^th.  We are going to do the study called Fatal Distractions by Ed Young Jr. (http://www.lifeway.com/product/001268737/).  It is an 8 session study that looks at the Seven Deadly Sins.  We meet in the CLC room 203 at 6:00 am every Tuesday morning.  We take turns bringing in biscuits for the group.  We are usually out around 7:00 – 7:15; so everyone can get to work. Liam Jonathan Chesser is Here!

Just wanted you all to know that Liam was born this morning at 9:48 am.  He was 8lbs. and 3oz. 20 and a half inches long.  We had a tough labor because every time I pushed his heart rate would drop.  They ended up having to use the vaccuum to help get him out.  Once he was here, he was having trouble breathing so I got to hold him for a second and they took him to the NICU.  They told us they would observe him for 4 hours and then decide whether he would stay or could come back to the room.  We just got a call that he will be able to come back to the room so we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our son.  I can not wait to be able to actually hold him!  Thank you so much for thinking of us and praying for us during this pregnancy.  Continue to pray that Liam will thrive and stay healthy.  We will be at St.Vincents north tower room 338 until Thursday.  We ask that you please wait until tomorrow or Thursday for visits so we can spend time with Liam this afternoon.  I will send out pictures as soon as I get a chance.  Thanks again!

Champions. Grace went in Tuesday for chemo and it made her not feel well.

Brad at home with Logan who is sick.

Mom is in a walking boot. Something wrong with the tendon.

Brian is having chronic pain from his lupus. Having trouble with getting pain medicine right.

Amber's grandfather still needs prayers, but he's feeling better. No cancer in the bones.

Grace Champion in the hospital with swelling in the brain. Medication hasn't helped. Back in the hospital today.

Grandmother had Surgery for breast cancer. They think they got it all.

Christi's best friend had her baby several weeks early, but the doctor heard a heart murmur in the baby.

A college student was violently attacked and amazingly survived. They're looking for the guy now. In Troy Alabama.

Susie's best friend diagnosed with MS. Lots of uncertainties surrounding it. Having to work part time and facing a lot of losses.

Amber's brother traveling for an interview. Will get to spend time with grandparents. May get to visit! Uncertainty about moving.

Veronica got a job as a pharmacist. Praise!

Amber and Jon. Dakota Gochee -- has leukemia. She's very pregnant! Her dad's business partner has autistic son. Having trouble with it.

Carrie and Hugh. Hugh is sick. Her sister is moving to New Jersey. Pray for strong faith for her. Her school system might be laying off people.

Lesley and Scottie. Reese had surgery for a cyst. Difficult recovery.

Ashley and Brad. His dad is retiring. Relationship issues with brother and sister in law.

Loyd and Lisa. His niece had a premature baby this week, but everyone is home now!

Chris and Anna. Maggie well! Student who was shot started back to school. Riley has a wrestling tournament coming up.
